My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at 21c Museum and Hotel over the weekend, located right in the heart of downtown Chicago. The hotel itself was beautiful, and likewise was the artwork contained therein.
The museum really did exceed my expectations as much of the work was exceptionally thought-provoking, and some pieces Avalino Sala's "21st Century Icarus" which superimposed images of people jumping to their deaths from the Twin Towers in New York during the terrorist attacks on 9-11-01, were absolutely breath-taking. When you first enter the museum you are met by an awe-inspiring sculpture titled "The Kid", which is a riveting commentary on the modern "empty mind" of the modern American.
All in all, 21c Art Museum and Hotel is a great place to stay, housed above two stories of mind-blowing and thought provoking artwork. For me, it was a surprisingly wonderful experience, and I can assure you that my wife and I will definitely be returning soon. I suggest that if you are afforded the opportunity, you stay there for a weekend getaway as well.

Looking Into Canada from the Blue Water River Walk
Well, we really wanted to go to Canada together, but COVID-19 travel restrictions prevented that. So, we did the next best thing and went all the way to the US/Canadian border and looked over Lake St. Claire into our neighbors to the North. Actually, in this case considering where we were, Canad...[continue]
So, while we were vacationing in the Ozark Mountains we looked down from our balcony and saw this guy in a cheesy, purple, rayon/foil shirt (and orange New Balance) doing the most awkward and uncomfortable photo shoot for his girlfriend. Thus, we couldn't resist going down later and doing th...[continue]
